Jamie is a highly experienced investment industry professional with a track record of building new businesses and industry connections through a financial services career spanning over 30 years. He has extensive knowledge of business finance, equity structures, foreign exchange markets and international payments. In his career, Jamie has built successful relationships with key decision makers at companies ranging from SMEs up to FTSE 100 level in size. Jamie is passionate about creating a fairer trading environment for smaller and medium sized businesses which he sees as the lifeblood of UK commerce and innovation. He believes one way of achieving this is through the adoption of emerging fintech services which offer speedier and more cost-effective solutions for start-up and scale-up companies. Jamie works with businesses involved in import/export and helps them optimise their foreign exchange transactions. By accessing the wholesale interbank market directly, they can bypass outdated banking platforms and avoid high fees and poor exchange rates. He also helps businesses mitigate currency risk using dynamic hedging strategies. Despite being a fan of technology, Jamie still believes in the traditional way of building face to face relationships with clients and would rather discuss the issue of the day over a cup of coffee than by sending an email or through a telephone call!

Background: A Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment, Jamie has worked as an investment adviser for some of the UK’s leading stockbrokers and wealth managers. His experience includes positions at Investec, Brewin Dolphin, WH Ireland and NatWest Stockbrokers. Latterly he has focussed on running his own financial services businesses including a boutique discretionary fund management company and a bespoke share dealing service for participants of employee and executive share option plans. Jamie is also the founder of CurrencyWave, an innovative fintech platform that provides foreign exchange and international payment services to companies and individuals.
